Snow

Is Easter or Christmas this week? Snowing here by the Great Lake. Spring cleaning the past few days, time is fleeting... So much that I want to do. Curling up under a blanket with a book, that sounds sweet.

Jaggers

Tuesday morning, calm, after a very beautiful weekend. I think we could all do with a few extra hours a day. Now that the weather is more predictable I find myself missing my family in MA. Life is so complicated now, I miss the old days when families could stay in the same general area. Miss you guys, see you soon.

Sunday shine

Finally spring is making an appearance in the NE. Lots of yard work, but so happy it is balmy...I think balmy might be my favorite word.

I painted this yesterday as an exercise from the DPW challenges. The challenge was to paint something white on a colored background. The reflections on the white vase were vivid and the painting was done using only primary and secondary colors. Fun to do.

Friday

Friday has always been my favorite day. I am not sure why. It feels free, hopeful, and relaxing. I started reading 29 Gifts yesterday, it is the first time I have downloaded a book on my iPad. So far the reading on a deviceit is ok, I love the smell and feel of a new book.....I also like passing a book on to a new home. I will miss that as nobody will be able to wrangle my iPad away. But, the author deserves his due, and I never considered their angle in sharing books.

For more about 29 Gifts refer to the Yeasty blog link in yesterday's post. It appears to be a book about turning a negative into a positive. I have an idea that if we all gave more in kind words, understanding, and even a smile it could be life changing. Like Kala posted the other day. Is being optimistic a choice?

Have a great Friday.

New place to visit

I am very excited to tell you about a new blog called "Yeasty". For the exuberantly creative, YOU. My paintings have been featured for a posting about The Daily Painter Movement. I hope you will visit this blog as it features a universe of creative ideas, tips, from writing to, well, visit and see for yourself! here is where she featured me.

My sister-in-law, Teri Flatley started writing an ezine 9 years ago about baby boomers, called Boom This! A wealth of information any one could use. 9 years in counting, she was arguably one of the original bloggers. Recently she launched "Yeasty" and is looking for fresh, creative people to feature. Stop in, sign up and follow.

Tonight she is attending a book talk by the author who wrote, "29 Gifts", I am looking forward to her post on this. If you are not familiar with this book, check it out on Yeasty. Teri has already written a post about the book, and it is a book I can't wait to read.

Monday, day of rest

Today I have my first moments to myself in awhile. The teacher in service days and my son's birthday, have left me far behind. I don't mind the good busy stuff. Take a nap or blog, maybe both. Still to early to plant flowers. Can't wait.

Time

I had fun shopping for fruits, veggies, to do the ten minute drills. Feels like high school timed typing test. These are truly fun to do. Set you timer, squint your eyes and give it a whirl. Loosens your mind and your brush. A thank you to Carol Marine for sharing her process. I would love to attend one of her workshops. That is not a possibility for a lot of us, but still she shares. The radio show and blog Artists Helping Artists, featured a conversation with Carol and her husband this past Thursday. Anyone looking for inspiration...I highly recommend these ladies.
Blogging has been a luxury the past week, school breaks, flu, and hard to get enthused about weather. Hopeful next week will be better. If I had a cleaning person........
